Departing Through Siem Reap International Airport
Leaving Siem Reap is a quite low key affair. Before you enter the departure hall, there are branches of Dairy Queen and Blue Pumpkin to satisfy any last minute needs for nosh. There's also a pharmacy if you need to stock up on Dramamine or whatever.
The check-in area is not very big and is used for both domestic and international flights.
After checking in, you stop at the counter to pay your departure tax (see below) and then proceed through security to immigration to reach the departure lounge.
Within the pleasant common waiting area for flights, there's a minimally stocked duty free shop, an outlet for Artisans d'Angkor (see Shopping) and a Rittaza coffee shop. As of January 2007, there were as yet no lounges, but they were in progress.
Departure Tax
The departure tax is US$6 for domestic flights and $25 for international flights ($13 for children 12 and under).
