Phnom Penh Airport Departures

Pochentong International Airport is a rather charming small airport. The structure is rather simple and utilitarian, but somehow avoids the bland gray could-be-anywhere decoration. A rich palette of earth tones covers the walls, and there are many local decorative accents.

The check-in area is rather small, so you won't have any trouble locating your counter. You will need to show your ticket to gain access to the check-in hall.

After checking in for your flight, you must purchase your departure tax coupon at the counters at the far end of the check-in area. This applies to both domestic and international flights. The passenger service charge (departure tax) for international flights is US$25.

After you pay the the departure tax fee, you proceed up an escalator and turn right. For domestic flights you walk straight ahead, or for international turn right again to get to immigration.

After your passport is stamped by immigration, there is a security screening.

In the departure hall you'll find a small collection of shops selling local items as well as duty free merchandise. The duty free selection is quite limited, even for a small airport.
