It seems that the Cambodian government’s efforts to promote its new national carrier is causing some problems for domestic travelers. The government has declined to renew Bangkok Airway’s right to fly between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh to give exclusive rights for the route to the newly launched Cambodia Angkor Airways. Bangkok Airways ceased flying the route as of Saturday, leaving some passengers in the lurch, as the new airline does not yet have the capacity to carry all the passengers wanting to go between the two cities.
