Security at Kuala Lumpur International Airport
Departing passengers will face the following security issues:
- International passengers go through a first security screening immediately after passing through passport control.
- You must go through a second security screening to gain access to your gate. This screening is more strict. Liquid, aerosol and gel rules apply for this screening. Laptops and your bag of liquids should be removed from your carry-on bag. You do not need to remove your belt or shoes.
Low-Cost Carrier Terminal Security
Security at the LCCT is a little different than at the main terminal:
- Your checked bags need to be scanned before you get to the check-in counter.
- You go through a second screening to get to the departure lounge. For international passengers, this will be immediately after you pass through immigration. As with the main terminal, you do not need to remove your belt or shoes.
