Kuala Lumpur International Airport Low Cost Carrier Terminal Transfers

KLIA Transit Train
Interior of the KLIA Transit Train

The entire airport is quite some distance from the city center. The main choices to get to and from the airport are:

  • A one and a half hour, 95 Ringgit (284.86 USD) taxi ride. You can book a taxi at counters just outside baggage claim.
  • The transit train linking KLIA to the city center's consolidated transportation hub, Sentral. You can purchase a combined shuttle and train ticket for just 12.50 Ringgit (37.48 USD). The shuttle bus will take you to the Salak Tinggi station of the KLIA Transit system, where you will catch the train for Sentral. Tickets are sold just outside baggage claim at the LCCT, or at the KLIA Transit counter at Sentral (note that's the Transit counter, not the Express counter).
  • Air Asia's "Skybus" service leaves from Sentral and goes directly to the LCCT. The cost is just 9 Ringgit (26.99 USD).

The bus or bus/train combination are definitely the better options. If you're arriving or departing near peak traffic times, the bus/train combination will be much faster and well worth the small premium.

See the KLIA Airport Transfers page for a list of transfer services that you can book in advance.

If you're traveling to further destinations around Malaysia, such as Melaka or Ipoh, there are direct bus services from the low cost terminal. Counters for these services are just outside baggage claim, along with the other taxi, bus and train services.
