Departing Through the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport

Leaving Kuala Lumpur through the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal at KLIA is quite easy, although there can be some quite long queues. There are no monitors showing you where to check in. If you're flying Air Asia X (eg to Australia or the UK) then you'll need to find the counter for your specific flight. Otherwise, you're best advised to use one of the automated check-in kiosks to get your boarding pass, then drop your bags (if any) at one of the drop-off counters.

There is no departure tax.

After check-in, you can browse the shops and cafes in the terminal building, then proceed through immigration for your international flight, or directly to your gate for a domestic flight. You will need to show your ticket to the guards to get access of immigration or the domestic departure hall.

After immigration, you pass through a security screening.
