Samui International Airport

Asia-Airports.com - The Unofficial Airports Guide

Airlines Serving Samui Airport

As a small, privately owned airport, there are not very many airlines flying into Samui. This is in part due to the high fees exacted by the owner, Bangkok Airways. Because of this, none of the domestic low cost carriers fly to Samui. Those looking for a budget alternative will need to fly to Surat Thani and take the ferry.

Bangkok Airways
The region's only "boutique" airline built the airport and flies to Samui from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Thai Airways
The Thai national carrier finally got a toe-hold in Samui in early 2008 when it secured two landing slots at Samui's airport, which is owned by Bangkok Airways. The flights allow Thai to provide direct links to Samui through Bangkok from it's extensive international network.
Berjaya Air
Based in Kuala Lumpur's old Sultan Abdul Aziz airport, Berjaya is sort of a resort airline, serving Samui, Pangkor Island, Tioman Island and others.
Firefly
"Community" airline set up as a wholly owned subsidiary of Malaysian Airlines. Based in Penang, the airline flies mostly to smaller destinations like Kuantan, but also serves Langkawi, Samui and Phuket.
