Suvarnabhumi International Airport

Security at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok

Security at Bangkok's new (October 2006) airport is supposed to be state-of-the-art and is therefore largely unobtrusive. Note that the international liquids, aerosols and gels (LAG) rule applies to this airport.

International passengers go through a single security screening immediately after passing through immigration (changed as of September 2009). Laptops and your LAG bag must be removed from your carry-on, and you're usually asked to remove your belt and watch. Shoes can generally remain on.

Domestic passengers go through a single security screening at the entrance to the domestic departure area. As with international passengers, laptops and your LAG bag must be removed from your carry-ons, but belts and shoes can remain on.
